Events for you in 2012

The Czech Gas Association is preparing a number of specialist events for its members and other people who are interested in the gas industry. This year is the last in the 2009-2012 triennium, which will be concluded in June at the World Gas Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where IGU’s activity in this triennium will be evaluated and the key tasks for 2012-2015 will be adopted. The CGA’s international activities within IGU will derive from these tasks. We are pleased to note that a CGA representative will hold the WOC 3 vice-chairmanship in the new triennium.

  • In 2012, the 9th CGA Congress will be held. Its activity in the past period will be evaluated and its mission for the next triennium will be adopted. The congress will take place in Kroměříž on 26 May 2012.
  • The Prospects for the Development and Use of CNG in Transport international conference, which will take place for the fifth time, already holds a firm position in the calendar of the CGA’s events. The new venue at which the conference will take place this year will offer much more space for companies’ displays and stands at the accompanying exhibition.
  • The Safety and Reliability of Pipelines colloquium is a traditional meeting of experts. Under the CGA’s sponsorship, it will take place for the 21st time this year. A new feature of the colloquium is a change of its venue.
  • Odd years have long been earmarked for the Metrology conference, organised under a new name since 2009: Gas Metering – New Trends. A survey conducted by the CGA amongst the participants in last year’s conference has clearly shown the demand for holding this conference every year. And so, June 2012 will again be dedicated to gas metering experts and Smart technologies.
  • In September, the CGA will organise the fifth edition of the Central European Gas Congress. This year the congress, which has evolved into a gas forum for the V4 countries, will therefore return to Prague where it was first launched in 2008. The congress will take place on 11 and 12 September 2012; the venue has not yet been selected.
  • The traditional Autumn Gas Conference will take place in early November 2012. No final decision has yet been made on the place and date. We will advise you of these on our website and in the Plyn magazine well in advance.
  • We expect that as in previous years, the CGA will organise additional interesting events for its members: seminars, the CGA club meetings, etc. We can also expect that the CGA will host some of the IGU committees’, Marcogaz’s and CEN’s meetings.
  • Our co-operation with GAS, s.r.o. in the organisation of specialist events will continue; the most important of these is the traditional “St Nicolas” workshop on Corrosion Protection of Buried Structures.
